The Devonshires are a wealthy affluent couple who were acquainted with the Howells before the wreck of the S.S. Minnow. After the Howells were rescued a sea, the Devonshires and the Fellows reunited with them afterward for an affluent party that was curtailed by the arrival of the Skipper and Gilligan arriving to get Mr. Howell's signature. Unfortunately, the Howells became offended by the Devonshires and Bellows's crass comments over the speaker system of the Skipper and Gilligan and tossed them out of their mansion.
