So, I was reading the comments on here and am kind of confused. Are people talking about Gilligan getting married to Ginger and a post-apocolyptic return to civilization some sort of Online Fantasy story?
There were three made-for-tv movies, the second and third designed as back-door pilots for a series based on the Howell Resort storyline. Most of the cast reprised their roles, except for Ginger - replaced by Judith Baldwin and Constance Forlund in the 3rd instalment also featuring a cameo of Mr Howell (Jim Backus due to his poor health) - replaced with his son (although he mentioned in the series that he had no children), Thurston Howell IV played by David Ruprecht.
As for Gilligan's children; in the original Live Action movie of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Casey Jones and Donetello were having a conversaion about who on Gilligan's Island would have gotten married - Casey believed Gilligan and Mary Ann would have gotten together, but Donetello suggested that he and Ginger would have had 6 kids by now. None of this is supposed to be canon for GI.
Sherwood Schwartz was already scrambling to find another actress to take over the role of Ginger since early 1967 when word was that Tina was already telling everyone that she was not coming back for a fourth season. If production had begun for a fourth season in August 1967, it was more than likely we would have seen another actress playing Ginger Grant rather than two new characters - Miss Krissy and Miss Sally.
