Bio[]
Professor Parsons (first name unknown) is a military scientist contracted by the Pentagon to produce or refine plastic explosives. His work is monitored by Agent Hartley, who brings in Agent Michaels as a supervisor. Parsons demonstrates the properties of the explosive to Michaels and Hartley, which explodes when dropped. However, Parsons soon reveals that 75 pounds of the explosive was produced, but 25 pounds was washed overboard during a storm at sea. When Hartley expresses concern that a hostile power could find the explosives, Parsons assures them that it was lost in the Pacific Ocean, "hundreds of miles from the nearest land," unaware the crate has actually washed up in the lagoon on the island with the Castaways where Gilligan and his pet monkey find it.
