The Pedal-Powered Scuba Pump is a creation of the Professor to dive into and search the bottom of the Lagoon for the lost yacht of Ricardo Laughingwell. The bicycle pumped air through a make-shift hose to a mouthpiece that provided both Gilligan and the Skipper with air under the water. Unfortunately, Gilligan got too much air that it caused his scuba suit to blow up like a balloon, allowing him to pop to the surface. Mr. Howell fixed the problem by puncturing Gilligan's suit, sending him shooting across the lagoon like a deflating balloon.
