Bio[]
Guns are a range weapon typically designed to pneumatically discharge projectiles using chemical-reactions under pressure. They are the popular type of weapon across civilized human culture and available in a vast array of types, models and uses. The existence and regulation of gun ownership in the United States is considered a controversial subject.
Several guns have appeared during the existence of the the Castaways on the island. During Gilligan's early sentry posts, he is seen with a flare gun and a revolver (probably the Skipper's), but eventually, the ammo runs out. When the WWII Japanese sailor arrives on the Island, he arrives with two rifles which the castaways take custody after he departs. When the Skipper has amnesia, he uses them to capture the rest of the castaways because he thinks that they're Japanese soldiers and he's back in the war. It's possible the others allow themselves to be captured probably because the guns might have ammunition still in them (or they believed the rifles still had ammo in them). However, the Skipper never fired a shot so it is logical the guns still had ammo in them at least until the Castaways learned otherwise. At the time of the news about Randolph Blake on the radio, it is revealed that the Howells have a small pistol but it is unrevealed if they have bullets for it. Despite all these weapons at their disposal, Gilligan reveals to Jackson Farrell during his visit that they have no bullets for any of the guns.
