The Fake Transmitter was a distraction created by the Professor to deceive and distract Mrs. Howell and the girls from their efforts to decorate the Island. There isn't a good look at it, but even the Professor postulated that they might be able to see through it. It included Skipper pedaling power under false pretenses to "power" it, and Gilligan hiding under the table and improvising a French accent to talk to the ladies. Unfortunately, Gilligan stuck his foot out too far, and Mrs. Howell stepped on it, revealing the deception.
