Towsley</b> was an American director, animator and writer who worked extensively in animation during his lifetime, mostly at Walt Disney Studios where he worked some of the earliest Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck cartoon of the Thirties. Not much of his career is known. He was an animator on "Fantasia," "Pinocchio" and "Dumbo" in 1940 and worked briefly at Bob Clampett Productions, later moving to MGM where he helped created the "Tom and Jerry" cartoons as well as the animated feature "How The Grinch Stole Christmas."
